Imagination

Updated: Feb 6, 2024

It’s a scary and lonely path- accepting what you know deep down to be true:
That there is no god. No salvation. Nothing after death (just as you were nothing before birth).

There is no greater justice, people don’t always get what they deserve. You won’t be rewarded for your pointless struggle. There is no purpose.

So it falls on us. Not to come up with fairy tales, but to find a reason to keep going, and to maybe make someone else’s journey a bit more tolerable.

But if you can convince yourself that the illusion is real, and there is some imaginary being that there is salvation to be had, you may be happier.

As they say, ignorance is bliss

I wonder if I will choose to play pretend, when I'm older and more aware of death. I wonder if I will act like I have some kind of higher knowledge, simply because I am scared.
